Proposed additions to NWT List of Species at Risk: barren-ground caribou, grizzly bear and bats

The public is invited to comment on the potential addition of the following species to the Northwest Territories (NWT) List of Species at Risk. Update: Comments were due by July 29, 2017 and the comment period is now closed.

Barren-ground caribou - proposed listing as Threatened:

Grizzly bear - proposed listing as Special Concern:

Little brown myotis (a bat) - proposed listing as Special Concern:

Northern myotis (a bat) - proposed listing as Special Concern:

Please consider the following questions when providing comments:

  • Should the species be added to the NWT List of Species at Risk? Why or why not?
  • Do you think that the status should be something other than proposed? If so, why?
  • If the species were added to the List, do you think there would be any negative impacts from the listing? If so, what?
  • Is there new or missing information that was not considered in the status report? If so, can you provide it or tell us where to find it?
