In accordance with subsections 59(2), 59(3), 60(2), and 60(4) of the Species at Risk (NWT) Act, the Conference of Management Authorities, on the advice of the preparer, is extending the completion date for the Dolphin and Union Caribou Management Plan.
This document was originally scheduled for completion on December 19, 2016. Owing to the transboundary nature of this species (occurring in both the Northwest Territories and Nunavut), the management plan is being developed cooperatively by the Government of the Northwest Territories, the Government of Nunavut, and Environment and Climate Change Canada. To ensure that all parties' perspectives are appropriately considered, an extension to March 31, 2018 is required.
