Opportunities For Input
Under the Species at Risk (NWT) Act, residents and stakeholders can have their say before decisions are made on listing species, conservation actions, management and recovery.
There are currently no documents or decisions open for review. Check this location to find out about opportunities for input that are coming up. You can also register to be notified of future updates to this schedule, and other species at risk news. If you would like to be added to the species at risk distribution list please let us know with an email to sara@gov.nt.ca.
Opportunities for input in 2022-23 included:
Draft Species Status Report for American White Pelican in the NWT
- Comments on the draft report were accepted until January 4, 2023. The final status report will be used to assess the species in April 2023.
Draft Species Status Report for Dolphin and Union Caribou in the NWT
- Comments on the draft report were accepted until January 15, 2023. The final status report will be used to assess the species in April 2023.
Draft Management Plan for Northern Mountain Caribou in the NWT
- Comments on the draft plan were accepted until October 31, 2022. The final management plan is due in July 2023.
Proposed Re-listing of Peary Caribou and Boreal Caribou
- Comments on the proposed re-listing were accepted until October 31, 2022. Listing decisions for Peary caribou and boreal caribou are expected by July 2023.
